AI Car Wash

Turn dormant video into a searchable archive

At IBC, I demonstrated a prototype that turns unindexed video into an archive you can search and talk to. Three of us built the working proof of concept in two weeks within the innovation team at Hypersolid / Triple, using AI development tools and an MCP connection to the analysed archive.

See the earlier video-analysis work in my NAB Las Vegas presentation.

From a tag to a scene

The prototype links its generated metadata to timecodes in the video. Selecting a tag such as ‘Eating’ jumps to the matching scene, so a description becomes a way into the footage.

FIND THE MOMENT: a cream Eating tag connects to a yellow timeline marker labelled 06:00 beneath the McDonald & Dodds scene of a man eating a sweet in a car.

Search by what you mean

The archive also accepts questions in ordinary language, using the analysed metadata to find matching material. In the demo, a request for the happiest news brings back a relevant clip without needing its programme title.

ASK YOUR ARCHIVE: the question Find the happiest news points to a television still of two morning-news presenters, labelled A matching news clip.
